Kukujumuku Mother-Daughter Bonding workshop (Liberia,Monrovia)
We were overjoyed to bring together 24 mothers and daughters in Liberia, giving them the tools to examine and overcome the challenges in their relationships. Through realistic scenarios, attendees explored ways to strengthen their bonds and address critical issues such as gender-based violence and teenage pregnancy. We wanted to create a safe and supportive environment for the mothers and their daughters to connect and grow. This workshop was a valuable opportunity for moms and their daughters to connect and be heard.
Assistance For Mothers And Daughters Who Have Suffered Burn Injuries. (Liberia, Monrovia)
During our recent visit to Bong County, we had the privilege of meeting with a group of mothers and daughters who had been victims of a gasoline explosion. It was a deeply emotional and heartbreaking experience to witness the aftermath of the accident firsthand. We saw the devastating effects of the explosion on the women’s bodies and the immense pain and suffering they had to endure. Despite their traumatic experience, the women exhibited remarkable resilience and extraordinary strength. We were honored to be able to offer them some support and assistance during their recovery. As a token of our solidarity, we donated 5 bags of rice, oil, onions, and salt to help them with their recovery needs.
Preventing Teenage Pregnancy. (Liberia, Monrovia)
Recently, we had the privilege of engaging with a group of 100 young boys and girls, aged between 10 to 19 years old, to discuss the sensitive topic of teenage pregnancy. The discussion was centered around the potential consequences of early pregnancy and how it can impact their lives and future opportunities. During the session, we had a meaningful exchange of ideas and insights, where the participants actively shared their thoughts, experiences, and concerns. As a speaker, I was able to provide them with guidance, support, and practical advice on how to make informed decisions about their sexual health and well-being. The discussion covered a range of topics, including contraception, healthy relationships, communication, and the importance of education and career goals. It was a valuable experience for all involved, and we hope to continue to engage with young people on topics that impact their lives in a positive way.make informed decisions about their sexual health.

Mothers and daughters participated in an educational program that focused on teaching them the essential First Aid and CPR techniques. The program aimed to equip them with the necessary knowledge and skills to respond efficiently and effectively in emergency situations, helping them to render immediate aid to those in need.
Resume Writing And Interviewing Workshop (Monrovia, Liberia)
The workshop was aimed at training women and girls on how to create a compelling resume and excel in interviews. We equipped them with the skills and knowledge needed to effectively market themselves on paper and in person, ensuring that they stand out from the competition. The training covered various techniques and strategies to enhance their confidence, communication, and presentation skills, resulting in a higher chance of success in landing their desired job or career opportunity.
The Dollar Day Flea Market (Capitol Heights, Maryland)
Our team organized a fundraising event called the Dollar Day Flea market to support our Generational Purse initiative in Liberia that is focused on empowering mothers and daughters. The event turned out to be a huge success as we managed to sell 400 items, all priced between $1 and $10. Thanks to the funds raised, we were able to purchase essential food items for burn victims and provide first aid kit and CPR training to 5 households. The training was specifically designed for mothers and daughters so that they can take the lead in handling emergencies and ensuring the safety of their families. Overall, it was a fulfilling experience for all of us involved and we are grateful for the support we received from the community.
Skyland Resource Fair (Washington, DC)
We were privileged to participate in the Skyland Resource fair and showcase our organization’s work. During the event, we interacted with numerous attendees and shared our mission with them. Our efforts were rewarded as we managed to encourage 20 enthusiastic ladies to sign up as volunteers for our upcoming events. It was a great opportunity for us to connect with the community and create awareness about our cause.
Moms Giving (Clinton, Maryland)
During the festive season of Thanksgiving, we organized a very special event known as “Moms’ Giving”. We extended a warm invitation to 20 mothers and their daughters to join us in a cozy gathering filled with joy, laughter, and love. The event was an excellent opportunity for these women to share their experiences, stories, and valuable advice with one another, while relishing delicious food and drink. We also encouraged the moms to donate their gently used clothing to other mothers and daughters in the community who were in need. The atmosphere was filled with warmth, compassion, and generosity as these wonderful women bonded and connected with each other. We felt privileged to be a part of such a meaningful and heartwarming event.
